7 Dec 2011: Things have been going slow for me for this project due to other classes.  I'm still aiming for this show and trying to make this happen.

3 Dec 2011: woopie! well it is almost plug and play.  There could be a more major problem at hand but for now I can set up most things and have some results from the sensor.  I will read more tonight and try to figure out some details.  What else? I dont know.  Things should hopefully work themselves out soon enough.  I would like to get the sensor in a 'happy' place before actually trying to develop a program for people to do visual interactions (which is the meat of my project). I have been set back a bit as there are some inherent limitations of the sensor that I did not foresee thus I need to make a complete redesign (as my original project did not include the idea of this sensor being a mouse but rather going off (the assumption) that this was a multi touch sensor).

Driver update: I'm currently picking the Legacy mouse to use (over the HID), b/c the installer reqs this over the HID mouse.  Please see the aside on my outline (constant updating) page. what else: FUCK!

1 Dec 2011:

Software update!: I have MinGW installed and working <3  Eclipse seems to be working as well (and installed).  Currently sitting around with 3M's driver (which is to say I am stuck on an install choice of what type of driver do I want/what my machine needs <3

Hardware update: Just missing 8 feet in steel but otherwise everything is in hand and able to fab a booth/pedestal for the piece.  I am thinking by this Friday I should have everything.

Sanity update: semi decent x.x (I think I should be freaking out but I'm not).

29 NOVEMBER 2011:

I T    H A S    A R R I V E D !!!  which is to say the sensor and controller.  The usb cable is making its way to me.  I am behind schedule and hope to get things installed tonight.  I have class from 15h30 until 19h00 which will prevent me doing much before class D:  I have been able to coordinate materials and will obtain everything by tomorrow (methinks).

28 Nov 2011:

So all parts are on order and should be in my hot little hands by Thursday or Friday this week.  Furthermore, hopefully I will get the drivers and what not installed tonight.

27 Nov 2011 Cont.:

x.x my eyes are bleeding (well not literally).  Currently I am trying to find the correct C++ developers kit.  I was hoping it would be found on a site like cplusplus.com but no such luck?  I will try with fresh eyes and rest.

27 Nov 2011:

round0b of goodies should be negotiated come Monday. (this includes the cable).  Currently I am making efforts to get proper updates and software running on my old 32 bit XP machine.  Hopefully it is fast enough (will do some speed checks).  This machine is a temporary means and hopefully for that Friday, I can run on the CCA apple inc iMAC, with booting windows 7 (32 bit? hopefully :D).  Hopefully by the end of today/the very start of 2011.11.28,  I can have C++ development kit, Java SE runtime, 3M's MT 7 driver and Processing running on my XP machine.

23 Nov 2011:

round0a of goodies are scheduled to come. round0b is going to be negotiated today (yes this is just over one single cable and trying to find something that is available and is a good price).  Holiday war plan: PROGRAM!!!!!!!  (well at least until I get stuck or run out of time).  I maybe not upload my methodology until i can start to realize this more so (or I may just keep updating a page/folder that has the code).  Good luck on your projects people!

I should be able to update the java and software side to this project tonight.  Plans to explicitly form the work space should be under way by 26 Nov 2011.

19 Nov 2011:

I made changes to my project descripy-thingy.  Hopefully it is in a nice neat readable format.  I have to proof read it and upload documentation.  I uploaded the largest file just cause it should be nice to look over ;)

Also I will start to create a home for some of my mock OS work.  Expect to see this ground work being laid in a weeks time.

doing research about films and starting to work on a UI for the work station. I may or may not show up for class.
